CURIOUS BY NATURE, THOUGHTFUL BY DESIGN

Damon Medwin.

Good design
starts with people.

I’m Damon, a Montréal-based product designer with roots in hospitality, operations and spatial design. I’m curious about the way people move through everyday life, and how thoughtful digital experiences can make it a little easier.

FROM THE WAY WE MOVE.
TO THE WAY WE interact.

FROM SPACE TO SCREEN

Circulation becomes navigation. Spatial hierarchy becomes information hierarchy. Guest and staff needs become a wider view of the user journey.

02 / INTERIOR DESIGN
B. BOLD DESIGNS / COMMERCIAL & RESIDENTIAL

Before screens,
there were spaces.

Interior design taught me to think beyond the surface. A beautiful space has to support the people who use it: how they arrive, move, gather, and feel.

My interior portfolio spans restaurant and workplace concepts, residential remodelling, a commercial renovation, and event decoration. Across these projects, I explore how layout, materials, and atmosphere shape the experience of being in a space.

WHAT CARRIES INTO
product design?

PEOPLE FIRST, ACROSS EVERY MEDIUM

Working in hospitality means noticing what people need, often before they ask. Combined with my design experience, that awareness helps me build digital products around real human behaviour.

03 / THE PERSON BEHIND THE WORKDAMON MEDWIN

A designer.
A question asker.
A people person.

I’m Damon, a Montréal-based designer building my practice in product design. My background spans interior design, hospitality, and operations—fields where understanding people is part of the daily work.

Working in restaurants taught me to consider the experience from both sides: the guest finding their way, and the team making the service work. Interior design gave me another way to shape that experience through layout, atmosphere, and detail. Today, I bring those perspectives to digital products.

I am currently seeking junior and mid-level product design opportunities.

How I think

Understand the context.

I ask what people need and what gets in their way. My background helps me consider both the person using an experience and the team delivering it.

Make complexity clearer.

I break complicated journeys into manageable decisions. Structure, hierarchy, and language guide people toward the next useful step.

Keep questioning.

I use feedback to challenge assumptions and refine ideas. Each revision has a clear purpose and a question to test next.

04 / IMPROVING THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE

what’s missing.

I’d love to bring my experience to your next project.
